Installing the new motor

Motor mountig adapter + spacer

In order to get my motor with it's 3" shaft low enough relative to the deck, I had to make a spacer ring from 3/4" MDF.  Then a motor adapter plate from 1/4" aluminum plate that goes below the ring.

Motor mounting plates

Motor bolted to plate I mounted the motor to the adapter plate with 4, 1" X 3/8" bolts with washers and split lock washers.  Then I bolted that plate to the mower with the 3/4" MDF ring in between the deck and the plate.
