'spot on'! Guy started our woodworking journey with a quote by
Michelangelo "The [bowl] is already complete within the [wooden]
block before I start my work. It is already there, I just have
to chisel away the superfluous material." We were delighted to
uncover the variated wood grain of our bowl within the block of
wood and to see it take shape over the course of the afternoon.
It is an opportunity that can only be provided by someone like
Guy, who has the right tools and the heart of a teacher. We'll
echo others by saying that Guy is a master craftsman, educating
and patiently guiding us through the process. We were even able
to make key decisions about the shape and type of wood. Truly a
unique, well-worth it experience that we'll remember whenever we
look at our beautiful red maple bowl keepsake.

Making this wood bowl was such a unique and fun experience. Guy
was so personable, knowledgeable and a great teacher. We loved
how our bowl turned out and enjoyed the entire creation process.

I really enjoyed Guy's wood turning class. With no prior wood
turning experience, I walked away with a beautiful bowl that I
enjoyed making. Guy is an excellent teacher -- very
knowledgeable, very patient, and very good at explaining the
tasks you are going to do. I also appreciated seeing and hearing
about all of the modifications that he has made to his tools. I
highly recommend this class.

Wood turning is something everyone
should try once in your life. The taking of a block of rough
wood from a newly felled tree into a piece of functional art is
truly transformative. Guy takes you there step by step with his
easy soft spoken teaching and gentle guidance. Guys shop is
comfortable and well set up for teaching this craft. From
picking your own wood to finishing it all is there and ready for
you. His stories and experiences add great color to the day.
This is a can’t miss opportunity when you are visiting Maine. -

We had so much fun working with Guy! He was an excellent
teacher—super patient, funny, and a great storyteller. We had no
prior experience and Guy made sure we felt comfortable taking
part in every stage. Our bowl is so beautiful and we can't wait
to show it off. We learned so much and are looking forward to
the next time we can take a wood working class. Would definitely
recommend this experience.

The education and experience
my son and I had will be a lifelong memory. Guy was great! He
was a very good teacher, encouraging and very patient. He has
vast knowledge in wood turning and a very well equipped work
shop. The final product came out beautiful. We made a bowl from
a block of elm, and it will be a centerpiece in our home
forever. I highly recommend this workshop. On a side note Guy
makes some excellent Blueberry Jam. He had some for sale in his
shop. I wish I would have got more!
Guy is a
phenomenal instructor. He is kind, personable, knowledgeable and
a story teller while weaving in learning lessons. Highly

Guy's woodshop was a place I wanted to stay all day long. - Ryan
Had an absolutely amazing time turning wood with Guy in his
beautiful workshop. First off the place is stunning and the
entire shop is solar powered (he basically built and fitted the
entire place himself) and it was only up from there. Guy was
attentive, fun, smart, and a great teacher. We had so much fun
and learned a ton during our experience and walked away with a
beautiful lathed bowl that's one of a kind. I'll never forget

experience for both of us and let us make the choices on what
and how we wanted things to look. He really explained the
process well and assisted when needed. We love our bowl. It’s a

bowl making experience for a fun date on a rainy day! We ended
with a beautiful bowl that is now a centerpiece on our table. He
was very patient with us and let us do it all ourselves but he
also stepped in at hard spots so we wouldn’t ruin it. Great
